Abstrak

Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengembangan model pengenalan wajah dengan memanfaatkan algoritma K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) sebagai metode klasifikasi dalam sistem biometrik. Dataset yang digunakan terdiri atas 1.000 citra wajah grayscale berukuran 128x128 piksel dari 10 individu, masing-masing dengan 100 citra. Proses ekstraksi fitur dilakukan menggunakan metode Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) untuk menangkap karakteristik wajah yang khas. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa nilai k optimal adalah 4 dengan akurasi validasi sebesar 75,37%. Uji lebih lanjut menghasilkan akurasi 81,37% dengan nilai rata-rata F1-score sebesar 0,81, yang membuktikan kemampuan model dalam membedakan identitas wajah secara cukup andal. Pengujian live recognition memperlihatkan bahwa sistem mampu mengenali wajah meskipun pada kondisi nyata dengan variasi sudut pandang maupun sebagian wajah tertutup. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa algoritma KNN masih relevan, efektif, serta efisien untuk tugas pengenalan wajah pada dataset berskala kecil hingga menengah, dengan keunggulan waktu pelatihan yang cepat dan penerapan praktis pada sistem identifikasi.
